Nine Pines Motel
Brand Identity
Nine Pines Motel is a fictional retro roadside motel identity project created to explore graphic design within a film production context. The aim was to design consistent graphics that would feel authentic to the late 1960s-70s era of a roadside motel, while also telling a story about the motel’s place in a small-town setting.
The deliverables included a motel poster, business card, matchbox and postcard. Each piece was designed as if it would exist within the motel’s world, helping to immerse an audience in its atmosphere.
Challenge
The brief called on creating graphics that felt authentic to the era while remaining consistent across different items. I approached this by researching vintage motel signage, building a unified visual system with period appropriate typography, colour, and small narrative details to bring the motel world to life.
